Mobile phones have been with us for quite some time now. The mobile phone industry can be said to be one of the most dynamic industries of this century. At the beginning, people used to buy mobile phones only for making and receiving calls, sending text messages and other simple tasks. After all, these were the capabilities of mobile phones at that time. However, due to continued research and the advanced technology of these days, people have continued to incorporate these devices into more aspects of their lives. A wide range of mobile phones have been invented. However, two devices that have epitomized the creativity of human beings are Apple devices and the BlackBerry phones.
In the BlackBerry line are quite a number of models, including the BlackBerry Curve, the Bold Series and others. Many people have however been hard pressed to tell the difference between Apple’s iPhone 3G and the Bold series from BlackBerry. Truth be told, these two devices are very similar and would confuse many buyers. However, there are quite a number of differences between them, apart from their names.
The BlackBerry Bold is a lightweight device that has quite an impressive build and will last long, barring any type of abuse. It has a black face and chrome sides while its back is made of black leather. It has a simplistic and relatively uncomplicated layout. The iPhone 3G also has a great build, coupled with impressive inside engineering and precision laser cut glass. It will withstand more abuse than the BlackBerry. It comes in either white or black and appears small. However, quite a number of features that are commonly used are accessible.
One main difference between the two is the large size of the Bold series. Many people may find it a bit of a handful. However, most of the space it taken up by the keyboard, which allows both hands to be used when typing. The Bold also has a larger screen which allows for excellent graphics, videos and content. The iPhone 3G has a slimmer build and a smaller screen (3.5 inches) you have all to yourself when not using its virtual keyboard.
One area where the Bold performs better than the iPhone 3G is the battery life. This is actually one area that most BlackBerry devices perform quite well. This could however be attributed to the more technologically advanced operating system of the iPhone. BlackBerry devices are however known as excellent desktop extensions. There are very slight differences between the two devices and therefore it can be a bit difficult to determine which one is better than the other. It will definitely boil down to your likes and preferences.
